Glenn is a local to Raleigh, NC. He has been developing WordPress plugins and contributing to the core project for several years with FullThrottle Development. He currently works at NC State University as a PHP / MySQL developer but continues to contribute to the community during his free time. While he enjoys many aspects of WordPress development, the community is what keeps him here. Make sure to say hi.

Syed Balkhi is the founder of WPBeginner. He is known for his agressive marketing skills, creative designs, and expertise in SEO. Syed has been in the industry for over eight years, and he has worked with some of the top brands in the industry. He is known as the WordPress Ninja among his clients because he is a total WordPress Geek.

Jayvie Canono of One Fine JayJayvie Canono, WordCamp Raleigh Speaker

Jayvie is a hybrid designer/developer who’s worked with WordPress since the earliest versions. He writes and speaks about design and best practices with WordPress development.

 

 

Doug Cone of Nullvariable Web ConsultingDoug Cone of Nullvariable Web Consulting

Doug started out on the Internet working professionally with his first web site project in 1997 for the Navigators. Since then he has worked on many professional and personal web design projects. Doug has worked with companies ranging from small local business to major corporations. He also has a background in training and sales, working with organizations like BestBuy, Circuit City, Clientlogic, CompUSA, Texas A&M University, Sony, Logitech, Helio, AMPED, and DirectTV. Doug is a passionate advocate for the open source model and contributes to several projects.

Jonathan Davis of IngenesisJonathan Davis of Ingenesis

Jonathan is the original author and lead developer of the Shopp e-commerce plugin for WordPress and founder of Ingenesis Limited. With almost 15 years of design and development on the web and he still can’t make up his mind whether he’s a designer or a developer. In 2005 he started using WordPress exclusively for his clients and never looked back.

 

Ryan Duff of Fusionized TechnologyRyan Duff, WordCamp Raleigh Speaker

Ryan has been working with WordPress since early 2004 and was the original author of WordPress Contact Form. As a long time community member, he enjoys exploring new ways to make use of WordPress. Making things simple for clients is the core of that. Customizing the admin section, creating custom meta boxes, custom post types and admin dashboard widgets all come together for a seamless experience for them. Ryan is a SysAdmin and long-time Linux user who likes to hack things to make repeated tasks simpler. Virtualization, configuration management, and version control software are some of the tools in his arsenal. He began making websites since the age of 12 and has been using PHP for almost 10 years.

John Ford of Automattic

John presently works for Automattic, focusing his attention on VaultPress, a security scanning and realtime backup service for WordPress.org users. Passion for coding is what motivates John, but some people are beginning to question his attachment to his iPad. Mix equal parts beautiful code writer, lover of healthy living, world traveler, living room DJ, and community giver and you’ll have the geek known as John Ford.

 

 

Douglas Hanna of A Small Orange

Douglas runs a web hosting company called A Small Orange, but has been involved with WordPress in a variety of ways for a number of years now, including as the person responsible for the very popular WordPress Showcase. The Showcase is terrific because it shows what people can do with WordPress. As Douglas put it, it’s WordPress’ way to sort of promote the people who have used WordPress in unique ways and attract more users to it.

 

Ronald Huereca of iThemesRonald Huereca of iThemes

Ronald’s worked with WordPress since 2006 and mostly dabbles in WordPress plugins. He has extensive experience with Ajax and jQuery. He recently joined the iThemes team to develop plugins for PluginBuddy.

 

 

Chris Jean of iThemesChris Jean of iThemes

With six years of experience developing and maintaining a closed CMS, Chris finally saw the light in 2008 and shifted his focus over to WordPress. As a member of the iThemes team, his focus is creating themes and plugins that allow users to have advanced control over their site without knowledge of code. Whatever that means. When he’s not on a bash shell or coding away in Vim, he can be found watching anime or playing TF2.

 

Aaron Jorbin of ClearspringAaron Jorbin of Clearspring

Aaron is an engineer with Clearspring where he works on AddThis and a WordPress Core Contributor. He has spoken to multiple User Groups and at WordCamps in four time zones. When he’s not busy creating and fixing bugs, Aaron helps run an educational simulation conference for over 1500 college students. He’ll gladly toast to the GPL any day of the week and happily will discuss whisky, quality beer, or the upper peninsula of Michigan with anyone that wants.

Dave Moyer of Bitwire MediaDave Moyer of Bitwire Media

Dave is a blogger, podcaster, web developer, radio host, actor, YouTuber, musician and photographer. He’s the founding President of Bitwire Media, the producers of blogs, podcasts and new media programming including WordCast and Making My Life.

Rachel is a web comicker turned front-end developer and UX enthusiast. Rachel still draws comics on the weekends, and WordPress is her CMS of choice. Also, Rachel loves tea and reading comics in Japanese.

 

 

 

Andrew Nacin of WordPress.orgAndrew Nacin

Andrew is a core developer of WordPress. As a member of the core team, he wrangles contributions, develops new features, and tries to fix more bugs than he creates. He lives in Washington, D.C., and works as a Tech Ninja at Audrey Capital, where he works on WordPress.org and other projects. He’s @nacin on Twitter (and just about everywhere else). He prefers decisions over options.

 

Patrick O’Keefe of iFroggy NetworkPatrick O'Keefe

Patrick O’Keefe is the founder of the iFroggy Network, a network of websites covering various interests. He has been managing online communities since 2000 and is the author of Managing Online Forums, a practical guide to managing online social spaces. He has been responsible for the cultivation of communities like phpBBHacks.com, KarateForums.com and PhotoshopForums.com. Justin Sainton of Zao Web DesignJustin Sainton of Zao Web Design

Justin  is the founder of Zao Web Design, LLC, a web firm based in Portland, Oregon USA. Working exclusively with WordPress and an array of other open-source technologies, Justin and Zao have provided creative and effective solutions for a wide variety of companies and associations ranging from Targus to Pitney Bowes to the National Education Association to HTC. Adam Ware of SwellPathAdam Ware of SwellPath

Adam is a self-declared “seasoned web veteran” with a rich web analytics background and extensive digital marketing experience and skills. Well-rounded in most areas of digital marketing and advertising with solid understanding of usability, web design, and underlying programming and CMS technologies. He’s now the CEO at SwellPath, an analytics consulting and digital marketing agency based in Portland. Adam is a WordPress fanatic, and has been a hardcore user since 2006. He’s got extensive experience with a wide-array of analytics applications, and has hacked and plugged-in most of them into WordPress.

Brad Williams of WebDevStudios

Brad Williams is the Co-Founder of WebDevStudios.com, a co-host on the SitePoint Podcast, and the co-author of Professional WordPress and Professional WordPress Plugin Development.

Brad has given presentations at various WordCamps across the country. He is also the organizer for the Philadelphia WordPress Meetup Group and WordCamp Philly

Brad has been developing websites for over 15 years, including the last 5 where he has focused on open-source technologies like WordPress.

 

Tony Zeoli of Reese Felts Digital Newsroom, UNC Chapel HillTony Zeoli

Tony joined University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in August 2010 as the lead developer in the Reese Felts Digital Newsroom. Previously, he worked as a consultant in the development of digital media applications for corporations and start-ups. He created digital products for Sony/BMG, Associated Press, Entertainment Media Works/StarStyle.com, Cablevision Systems Corp., Fuse, Smith Street Records, Zondervan, Pepsi-Cola and Melibee Global. In 2009, Tony launched Digital Strategy Works, a new media consulting company building web and mobile applications on WordPress for small businesses. A WordPress expert, Tony launched WordPress Westchester through a partnership with White Plains, N.Y.-based, The Journal News (a Gannett publication) to train Westchester, N.Y. web developers on the popular WordPress CMS. Tony has also presented on the topic of WordPress and multimedia at WordCamp NYC and Raleigh.
